The weather forecast was not wonderful and the company was going to cancel its trips for the day. As it was still very calm they kindly decided that the morning trip would run and we had a very enjoyable morning seeing the sights and all the fish. We were well looked after by Cam and he shared his extensive knowledge of the area with us.

    The fact that the boat had a glass bottom with great viewing was a distinct plus. These boats are also covered to ensure that we would not get either wet in times of rain or sunburned.

    An amazing good quality well priced experience. Very professional staff and operation from booking to end. Highly recommend. Cam and Kate our guides were brilliant and very knowledgeable. Such a beautiful part of the world where being on the water gave us a different perspective especially looking through the glass bottom of the boat and seeing the marine life.

    My children 3 and 6 absolutely Loved it too. Have visited this area a few times but never been fortunate enough to explore from the water, certainly a great way to see and appreciate such a beautiful coastline. So pleased we chose the glass bottom trip, the highlight as a non diver was seeing the sea life through the glass bottom wasn't snorkelling weather and seeing what a difference a Marine Reserve makes.

    So what, if anything, can be done about it? To date, attempts to adequately regulate and police Airbnb listings have been spasmodic at best, leading to a patchwork of confusing, siloed approaches. Such rulings mean that cities must continue to act alone — with mixed success. Against the sheer number of rogue listings, he argues, officials are fighting a losing battle.

    Academics and planning experts say that having access to this data would, at the very least, make it possible for officials to know what properties are being rented out short term, by whom and for how many days a year.

    Sincethey have had their budgets cut by 63 per cent. And access to data will only come about, they argue, once we have better laws to govern companies like Airbnb. And Airbnb refuses to give this data, which makes it impossible for policymakers to effectively measure and monitor the phenomenon, let alone regulate it.

    That lack of transparency is giving scammers a place to hide and prosper.

    Yet, for many, this is what Airbnb has become: a thin sharing-economy veneer hiding a vast slurry of unscrupulous profiteers. Then, days before this story is due to be published, Baumann accepts my LinkedIn invitation. I send Baumann an email, telling him I would like to ask him some questions. He replies, saying he is currently traveling and will respond to my email as soon as he gets it.
